Artist residency reel

Hart House, University of Toronto

A promotional reel produced for Hart House, University of Toronto’s Artist-in-Residence program, featuring Photographer and OCAD alum Dainesha Nugent-Palache. It was used on social and web for the Camera Club’s Artist-in-Residency program, run by Hart House, University of Toronto.

My inspiration for the video style, tone and editing was taken from the artist’s work and from trying to showcase the photography aspect of her practice (dark room) in relation to her residency role at Hart House (Hart House interior shots).

I formulated three questions that shaped the piece:

  1. What is the through line in our art practice?

  2. What is your exhibition at Hart House about?

  3. What is your role at Hart House/UofT?

I was also in charge of doing a photoshoot with the artist to produce still images to use for social, web, and articles related to their Talking Walls photography exhibition, that was running in tandem with the residency program.
